As the longtime Chief Operating Officer of the highly successful and recently rebranded Sachs Media Group and the mother of six children, Michelle Ubben will talk about whether women can have it all, building a successful career without giving up family life, and how technology makes work flexibility and work-life balance possible and challenging at the same time.

 Michelle Lagos Ubben is Chief Operating Officer at Sachs Media Group and is a veteran communications professional with 24 years of senior-level and government experience. She served as communications director for five government agencies and a U.S. Senate campaign, worked as a reporter for the Orlando Sentinel and taught speechwriting at Florida State University. She has a proven ability to manage media crises, generate extensive media attention and develop award-winning, proactive communications campaigns. Michelle holds a Master of Arts degree in Communication from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Central Florida.  In 2006, Michelle was among the finalists for the National Public Relations Executive of the Year and the winner of the 2008 Stevie Award, Women in Business category, for Best Executive – Service Businesses for Up to 100 Employees in Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations. In 2009, under her leadership, Florida Trend named Sachs Media Group one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in Florida. In that same year, Michelle received the prestigious Emmy Award for her work with the Governor’s “Explore Adoption” campaign. Recently, Michelle traveled to Haiti to consult with the Ministry of Culture and Communication on a strategic communication plan for Haiti’s rebuilding phase. She is married to Matt Ubben, and together they have six children.
