PrimoHoagies billboard on Tennessee St caught my attention lately. hoagies look mouthwatering good. Gave it a try after the Noles softball game this afternoon. Parking was easy and close by. 1 customer was eating his sandwich. The place was clean. Menu boards easy to read. Peasant attendant taking orders. We ordered the featured Italian with all the fixings - no pickles or mayonnaise. Also ordered the Philly Cheesesteak with peppers, onions, provolone cheese. My friend ordered the #1 Turkey hoagie with everything on it. Once home, my wife and I dug into the Italian and Cheesesteak.
The cheesesteak ingredients were heated in TurboChef type oven (like Publix uses). Destroyed the meat and cheese. Hard and crusty. Onions and peppers weren't recognizable. Suggest the operator's go around the corner and try Jersey Mikes - Big Kahuna cheesesteak. Done on a flattop grill as it should be.
The Italian - sorry to say - mediocre. Some of the meat was unchewable. Bread not fresh and very chewy.
Not sure who voted this chain "America's Best" because, IMO, it's not as good as Mike's, Publix, Helluva Sub, Jimmy Johns. Was a disappointment.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We're sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet your expectations. We take pride in our hoagies and it's disappointing to hear that you found them less than satisfactory. Your feedback about the cheesesteak and Italian hoagie is valuable and we'll certainly take it into consideration. We strive to provide the best quality and service, and we hope to have the opportunity to serve you better in the future.

I really wanted to like Primo Hoagies. When I saw that they originated in Philadelphia and offered Philly and northeast specialties, I was excited. But what we received was disappointing.
I love a Philly roast pork sandwich which are almost more popular in Philly than a cheesesteak. So we ordered the Abruzzi: roast pork, sharp provolone and broccoli rabbe. We also ordered a Mild Sharp Italian: prosciutto, sharp provolone, capicola and salami. We also ordered a macaroni salad and a pickle.
First the good news: the bread is apparently baked every day and it was a pretty authentic Italian hoagie roll. And the sharp provolone was indeed quite sharp.
But the rest wasn't so good. The Abruzzi came without the broccoli rabbe, which is a critical item in a 3 item sub. So we just received pork and provolone. And, sadly, the pork was very dry. The Italian sub came with plain ham instead of capicola. The sandwich was just ok.
We never received the macaroni salad or the pickle.
I recognize they are new, but every single item was wrong or missing. That's kinda hard to overlook. And the quality of the meats was just ok and, as mentioned above, the pork was very dry.
Given other wonderful sandwich shops in town, I'm not sure if we will go back.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Rich P.Tallahassee, FL853388Aug 15, 2023First to Review

I really liked it! Italian hoagie tastes like you would get in NJ or Philly area. The hot & sweet peppers were clutch. I saw they had Herr's chips too.

Great Italian sandwiches and wonderful customer service. I love the Sharp Italian. The deli meat is fresh and sliced perfectly. If we didn't live an hour away, we'd probably eat there at least once a week.
