Today was the final weigh in day at Fuel Fitness Boot Camp Community for the six week boot camp challenge. I'm happy to say that I lost a total of 12 pounds in six weeks and I will continue on my fitness journey for life. It's not finished with me and frankly, it will be something I'll work on for-eva. I've been on the yo-yo train since I was a freshmen in college - I can clearly see my patterns and know what works and what doesn't work for me. And I've lost and gained the same 20 pounds for the past three years - yikes. Now, the trick is sprinkling fun food experiences in with the usual weekly menu. What does me in is bread, cheese, alcohol and crappy relationships - imagine that! All things food related that anyone would be crazy not to want - like daily sometimes. But, I get instant bloat. No joke, I can and have gained 13 pounds in one weekend eating and drinking that stuff - and it takes weeks to get it back off.

As the owner of Fuel Fit and I were talking after my weight in I shared with him what I used to say to my weight loss clients back in the day: when you go to the store to buy dog food, pick up a back that weighs what you just lost and walk around with that for a bit! That'll bring perspective.

The irony of choosing this journey is that life has a way of throwing challenges you just don't anticipate along the way, but everybody knows it's going to rain, we just haven't gotten really good at predicting when and how much. Thankfully, even with a knee that's decided to act up, a sprained ankle and sickness along the way, I remained committed. The staff at Fuel was fantastic at following up every week to check on me - and I appreciated that. Their team of trainers are fun, energetic and motivating, and no they don't just do bootie camps, they also have yoga - yay for yoga!

If you're ready to take your life back and thrive, I encourage you to do the work. Dive in - no it's not always going to be perfect or meet your expectations, but progress is better than a pitiful version of yourself. #bettertobesorethansick #gratefulforhealing #bootiecampsrock #showupandshine #yayforyoga

*Beware of flawed membersh cancellation process*
Currently unable to cancel my membership and no matter how many times I ask for a cancellation. It has been months having this problem. When I tried to not having any funds on my card to avoid money taken away(due to them not canceling my subscriptio), they called me multiple times to collect any payment and sent multiple text message desperate for my money, but when I call to cancel membership, nobody does anything to cancel it. It has been a bad experience and I have reported this location to my bank. When I get called by the gym, I mentioned that I moved to another state and that I need my membership cancelled, I get told that I have to be there "in person" in order to cancel it.
really? For them to collect payment they can do so at any time no matter what the customer says but when the customer doesn't want any participation on the membership They need to travel across the country in order to cancel a simple gym membership? It is outrageous.

I did the personal training membership with Jaz as my trainer for 6months and she was awesome and is the only reason I'm giving this gym 3 stars. Other reviews about her are true that she brings her kids, but they aren't a bother and anyone who is bothered by that should remember that ppl have kids, that's how the world works. I also really like that Fuel is 24 hours and you can let yourself in.

However, I agree with the poor ratings of other reviews regarding everything else in this gym. At first, it looks great but the more you use this gym you start to notice machines are ripped, they are almost never wiped down, dirty towels everywhere, no paper towels to clean machines, cardio machines (ellipticals) and not well maintained and always creaking like they're about to fall apart.

I honestly only kept my membership cause Jaz was so motivating but at $200 a month it became too much to keep up with, so I switched to the regular membership.

My BF started taking me to youfit so I could train with him, since fuel doesn't allow guests (which is kinda ridiculous considering most gyms in town charge the same amount for guest privileges as fuel charges for the regular membership), and I literally never went back to fuel.

For the past couple of days I've been trying to cancel my membership since I noticed that in the month of May, they charged me double. When I called I got Rodger, he cut me off to explain that was my annual fee, and I explained I had already paid that in February, to which he responded no that was the startup cause "I was a new member in Feb". I reminded him I had been a member for 6 months of the personal training membership prior to Feb.
He said he would refund me May's overcharges but I still have not seen that refund initiated.

I asked about canceling my membership and he said they could not do that in person or over the phone, which is CRAZY considering we live in the digital age, and I could change memberships in person or in the app (which is another nightmare).

W/e he's was supposed to email me the form to cancel, but didn't until I called again the next day and told me he was doing it right before I called, but then asked me what my email was twice on this call so how was he doing it without my email?? w.e he honestly does come off as a conman/ former used car salesman type.

I get the form today and see that it takes 30 days from when they process the form to cancel and takes them 5-7 days from when they recieve the form to process it. If there is a billing cycle within those 30days (but really almost 40) I will still be charged. THAT is fucking wild to me! what happened to no contract?? That's literally forcing ppl into a contract. The same form states that if the last payment doesn't go through that they will send you to collections. Like WTF?? You guys must really be doing bad to willingly build up bad karma and a terrible reputation.

Honestly started off giving this place 3 stars but now I've convinced myself to lower it.

Good luck if you try them out.

I've been trying to cancel my membership for weeks. Nobody ever answers my calls, returns my calls and nobody is ever at the front desk. I am currently paying for two memberships now.

There are much more professionally run places to go to in Tally. Find them run from this place.
In December 2022 I purchased a month to month membership for myself for $150/month that included 4 personal training sessions per month. I got covid right after I joined. Couldn't use the gym. Trainer-Jazmine told me she would make up December owed sessions with me + 1 free from joining.
1/17 the gym charged me $200 for my membership - had to call to get $50 refunded, which they did. On 1/23/2023 I added a membership on for my spouse no training for $27.99/month. No contracts on either. No commitment on either.

Trainer was unprofessional - several instances of unprofessional behavior, she brought her child with her and that child was on floor, other members brought kids and either left them unattended in lobby or had on floor. Her husband came to pick her up during one of my sessions and she cut it short 10 minutes.

On 1/25 my card was charged for another $200. Roger the manager told me it was for extra sessions and when I told him that Jazz was to have been making up classes missed for covid he told me he didn't know - not my problem she didn't communicate with him. She also has a mouth on her - for being a woman - she loudly called me a MILF during training and thought is was funny. Shame on her.
I also have a disability and Jazmine was to have told another trainer about it for a class, but did not when I went to class he had no idea so I couldn't attend.
Roger had also opened duplicate accounts for me and my card didn't work many times to let me in gym.
In discussing all issues with Roger on 1/25 I told him that we were going to cancel our memberships Mid-February so it would be the last month for us. My husband still had not gone to use club and we were done due to all the service issues.
Roger told me we should just stop using and he would refund my husband's $27.99, the $200 overcharge and $112.50 for the unused portion of mine for January. Roger said he'd call back, but did not - which doesn't surprise me as he makes excuses for everything and doesn't listen to people when they talk - (i.e. when I first called on that day he said he had to 'look into issues' - I told him I was free for a call between 10 and 10:30 - he called after 11). Never got another call or response to emails from Roger who claims to be the 'manager' of the club regarding the pending refund.
I only received the $200 refund of overcharge - he's still not returning calls or emails regarding remainder $140.49 owed.

Do not fall into the trap of joining this gym. Very high pressure sales tactics and a no guest policy. Trying to cancel this membership is the biggest scam attempt I have ever seen. If you want to cancel, you must print off a cancellation form that has to be requested from a third party company and then sign it, scan it, and then send back to the third party company. I learned that this was the process after calling the manager of the facility and him telling me "yeah you need to come in to the gym to cancel so that we can put a name with a face." Fast forward a week and i get a call stating that my payment for the membership (on a card I use daily) did not go through. When I asked how this could be possible, I was told that my card information had been removed from their file but that I still have an unpaid balance that will be sent to collections if it is unpaid. When I finally had time to go in and physically cancel my membership and pay my overdue balance, I was informed that I in fact could not cancel my membership in person and that after submitting a cancellation request to the third company party mentioned above the billing cycle would continue for an additional 30 days after the request is made which means I again had to pay for another month. The manager removed my card information to cause the payment issue and delay the 30 day cancellation notice in order to get another month of payment out of me. Complete con artists, stay away.

Gym has really gone downhill since I joined. Was working out this morning and saw the front desk receptionist speaking with another member and the rude owner stared the member down until the girl turned around. I thought by the look on his face that he was going to punch her in the face. He then proceeded to flail his arms at her and told her to "wrap it up". As a paying member, I think this is disgusting behavior and I will be quitting. He treats the staff and members rudely and I don't want to support a business who doesn't care about about its people. Shoutout to the blonde girl for taking the attitude and rudeness because I would've quit on the spot.

      This is my long rant!

So about two months ago I get a message from the owner of Fuel Fitness and he tells me he needs me to come in and talk to me.

So I ask about what and I'm told he would rather talk in person and so I tell him I have anxiety and that I need to know if there is an issue or what. And he tells me there is an issue so I insist again that he can't tell me what until we are in person.

So I'm freaking out and I gotta wait till 2 days to talk to him. So anyway I go and talk with him and I record the whole conversation because I'm nervous and love to keep my receipts. In this convo he says he thinks people are talking about him and that he noticed negative energy coming from me and that if it doesn't change "he is the enforcer" and will have to handle it.

So I tell him I have no clue what he is talking about and that I liked coming to the gym. (Folks that know me know I've been working out for my anxiety for like 5 years now and I go like 3-5 times a week sometimes twice a day if life has been particularly hard)
So he tells me I need to do better going forward. Super weird, super like authority over me and gross. (There was another person with me that he also singled out who left the gym after that also but they opted to pay the cancellation fee)

So the next few times I go in he makes me feel really unwelcome and is making it very obvious he still has an issue with me (come to find out he targeted me because I look like a group of tattooed women who go there that have an issue with him)

So like I stop going as much and I'm just not comfortable there anymore. I message him like a month ago and say hey I can't keep going here because of what you did to me and how you are making me feel and I don't think I should have to pay the $200 fee to cancel a contract because you did this to me. And he never replies or talks to me about it.

So I pay this place $100 a month and I'm not going anymore and I'm not okay with my mental health because my outlet is gone.

      Jump to now:
I sent him all that above (because I'm giving him a chance to just reply and let me off the contract)

He finally replies and I posted the convo below.
So I fill out the form and turn it in. And what does he do... he STILL charges me the cancellation fee. Wow! So if you goto fuel maybe consider all this... and if you were thinking about going maybe double don't.

Fuel Fitness has become my second home. I've been a member for close to 1.5 years & truly feel like they have guided me on a fitness & health journey. I am far from athletic, suffer from asthma & terrible feet issues, but I have grown stronger & have less pain than ever. The trainers pour everything into us, & that energy makes so much difference in me wanting to show up everyday. My life is truly changed!

      Fueler comraderie!
