Modern LLMs and SLMs such as GPT-5, Gemini, Claude, and Phi-3.5 bring strong reasoning capabilities to audit log analysis. They can detect unusual access patterns, outliers, and combinations of transactions that are difficult to capture with traditional rule-based methods. When guided and restricted to approved datasets, they operate securely and with low hallucination risk. Their insights help auditors quickly identify high-risk behaviors and strengthen proactive data anomaly detection.
